Develop the drugs of the future
We are now extending our chemist group by recruiting another organic chemist who will have the task of strengthening our expertise in drug chemistry and organic synthesis. Apply today if you thrive in a fast-paced and multi-disciplinary research environment focused on driving innovative drug projects forward. You will have the opportunity to develop both within and outside of your discipline.
Sprint Bioscience is growing
Sprint Bioscience develops small-molecule drugs to fight cancer. With fragment-based methods, the latest approaches and leading specialists, we develop the drugs of the future – from the idea stage to a clinical candidate with the goal set at being “First-in-Class”.
Our business model is to identify, start and run drug development projects and then license these projects in the preclinical phase to the global pharmaceutical industry. We invest our resources on projects that have the best technical and commercial prerequisites for success.
Sprint Bioscience has grown every year since its inception in 2009. Today, we are about 30 committed employees from ten different countries who work closely together in a stimulating environment with cutting-edge methodology and challenging projects. The company also has several academic and external collaborations all over the world. We occupy newly renovated premises in Huddinge, 20 minutes from Stockholm Central.
About the position
You will work with organic synthesis of bioactive molecules within our projects. The drug chemistry group consists of eight people who all work closely together, even though we are divided into smaller project-specific groups. For the sake of efficiency, these smaller groups are dynamic and can change depending on project priorities. As a chemist, you are thus involved in several projects and will work with very varied synthesis tasks. This is a permanent position.
You will make a difference
With your expert knowledge you will become an important and key member of our team of specialists in pharmaceutical chemistry. We would like you to have previous experience from the pharmaceutical industry or alternatively drug chemistry experience from academic research. Your main contributions will be to:
- drive the development of future drug molecules in collaboration with our computational chemists and cell biologists. Innovative thinking is crucial.
- plan, implement and evaluate organic synthesis.
- be familiar with analytical techniques such as HPLC, MS and NMR and deliver reliable data.
- update and further develop our tools and workflows within the chemistry group.
